Vipp's Award- Winning Kitchen 2014 - Elle Decoration International Design Award

Since I started working on the renovation plans of our London home, I've always figured out that our kitchen would be white like the rest of our home until I was invited by VIPP last Christmas to participate to a styling blogger competition in their flagship store in Copenhagen and saw their black kitchen designed in-house by Morten Bo Jensen, Head of Design at Vipp.
I don't think I've ever seen anything so beautiful and striking...

Seeing it on display in their beautiful flagship store (which has polished concrete floors - another thing I would love in our new kitchen), has completely opened up my mind and I see now a black kitchen in our family home is now well within the realms of possibility.
Since then, my Kitchen board on Pinterest, has been filling up with gorgeous and inspiring black kitchens.

This week, the VIPP kitchen has won the Elle Decoration International Design Award for best kitchen 2014 which is amazing and well-deserved so massive congratulations to the whole team, to this amazing brand which is a family business and to Jette Egelund, for having the drive, vision and passion to pursue what her father had created 75 years ago.

Incidentally, as Vipp is celebrating their 75 year anniversary this year, they are on the lookout for some vintage Vipp bins to curate an exhibition. You can recognize the first Vipp bins produced by their wavy and polished chrome lid and a golden logo in cursive letters hand-written by Jette's father. So if you are lucky enough to own one of these vintage bins, please get in touch with them.

CREATE | INSPIRE | HAVE FUN

I can't tell you how happy I am it's the weekend! Our beautiful Christmas catalogue has landed in the UK yesterday (if you haven't requested a copy, you can do so here) and it has been crazy busy.
We've been sending the Z1 pendant light all over the world and I'm not kidding! We had orders from France, Australia, the US and the UK. We're getting more in stock and will add soon the smaller modele too.
Above is one of the shots I styled for the catalogue.
I love styling workspaces and I did this one as if it was for me, with things that inspire me and things that I always have on my desk like masking tapes, notebook and of course our famous paper bin which seems to be a very popular choice as Xmas stocking filler.
This wooden desk is beautiful! We have one in our showroom if you want come and see it.
Have a fab weekend! I'm off to make gluten-free pancakes for the minx and then I'll go to Bikram yoga
xoxo

PS: come and see me on Instagram if you're there too

Happy Halloween!

We have a bit of a black theme running through our collection at the moment, perfect for Halloween yet sophisticated and chic for the rest of the year. We just love the beautiful and dramatic dark shot of the Kathleen Hills Cluster Light for our new catalogue.

Hope you have a good Halloween! We are looking forward to getting creative with pumpkin carving, eating warm spiced pumpkin soup, dressing up, and taking the kids 'Trick or Treating'.

Black beauty & positive thinking

I started the day on Instagram posting this positive thinking quote and it worked wonder.
My day has been filled with good news and truly amazing shots for our Christmas catalogue.
I can't get over how beautiful this photo François took today is and don't get me started on this black cluster light.
I have the 8-string white cluster light in my bedroom and in our home in France but the black one is quite amazing...especially against a dark wall.
If you're not a fan of his page yet, by all means follow him on Facebook here, you will make his day.
Have a great evening xoxo

Grey & black for our home and ourselves....

How was your weekend?
On Sunday, Mila and I met my friend Michelle and her gorgeous family at The Olde Bell in Berskhire (I highly recommend the place that was designed by Ilse Crawford). See Instagram for more pics.
Mila modelled for Michelle and then we had lunch. It's a shame the weather was not great because it looked like a great part in the country to go for a walk.

Today, we are working on three of the main lifestyle images of our Christmas catalogue. This fabulous Paper bag is now in stock but we are still waiting for the delivery of the beautiful Z pendant lights so that I can finalise my styling.
I'm getting a tiny bit restless so in the meantime, I thought I would share with you these beautiful, dark shots that really inspired me....

Following my last post about {Winter Look 2}, I couldn't resist adding this look as an extra. I love everything about it. It's sexy, stylish, easy to wear and feminine (click here for more Style inspiration).

Have a great week and if you haven't done it yet, make sure you request a copy of our catalogue HERE.

Favourite B&W styling jobs | The Rock flag print

I'm very excited to tell you that we will receive very sOOOOn our new Rock Flag print and as I was looking at this page, I thought I would share with you the B&W images I enjoyed styling the most.
Given that everything I select for our concept store are things that I would have at home, inevitably a few of these images turned out be just how I decorated our family home in London when I took the prints home rather than becoming a 'styled shot' but eventually I had to do a bit of work and some were specifically styled for our catalogue - Make sure you request a copy.

The Batgirl print (top left corner) was styled chez Vosges Paris when I stayed with Dees to attend Meet the Blogger in Amsterdam last June (we had such a great time together and I'm very looking forward to having her in March for Meet the Bloggers in London)

I also styled the Feathers print for our SS2012 catalogue at Desiree's (top right corner - you can get the clip on light here and the owl vase here)

(Bottom left corner) The Feathers print again but this time in our bedroom - I change the display regularly so I don't get bored (you can get the cluster light from here)

Le Chat print (bottom right corner) was styled at my parents' place in France for our first catalogue in 2011 (check it out on Issuu). I found the galvanised metal shelf in my dad's workshop, made a right mess of my mum's bedroom (because she has wonderful floorboards in it!) and made this workspace image which has since then been featured on the front cover of an Asia mag.
You can get similar shelves from any DIY shops.

Weekend in whites

I can't tell how how glad I am it's Friday! I'm absolutely exhausted...
I'm still on jury service staying in touch with the office to finish our SS/12 catalogue (thanks God Sophie is doing a magnificent job liaising with our creative agency), re-ordering more stock of La Tropezienne bags as we only have 8 left out of the 40 bags we recently received, more wooden desks, more Ball chairs, more tutus, more of everything!!
More is good right! :-)
I'm behind schedule on the revamping of the site mais tant pis!
Elodie has arrived last night (very late!) to stay with us for a long weekend and I can't wait to spend the weekend with her.
While I was waiting for her last night, I spent some time on Pinterest and created a new board called Whites ...I know...not hugely original but it does what it says on the tin :-)
Here are my favourites for today...
1. My home 2. Sweet Paul 3. Rising Objects (I bought a similar pair in leather at Spitafields market a couple of weeks ago) 4 & 5. Bubbelsoda: Gorgeous tutu which reminds me of these 6. FK (if I stare at my headphones long enough it may motivate me to go for a run despite the rain) 7. Industrial lamp by House Doctor DK 8. Anouk B
